Welcome back ladies and gentlemen! I am now half way done with book Divergent by Veronica Roth. In my earlier blogs I wondered if Tris and Four would become closer and more than just friends. What I have read so far in the book they are becoming closer and closer. Four flirts with Tris when she is in the chasm in the dauntless compound after she wins the capture the flag game at navy pier that night. As Tris and Four become closer and they talk more and more. Eric turns into a horrible person and a worse trainer. He makes Al stand in front of the target because he is scared of airborne knives. And if he flinches he will become faction-less. I don't like Eric because of this reason I feel like he likes to hurt people not help them.So Tris works up the courage to stand up for her friend Al knowing he stay in front of the target and not cry. She says anyone can stand in front of the target it doesn't prove anything. So she takes his place and stays there letting four throw knives at her. She has become stronger and she is no longer scared. I absolutely love this part because she speaks up to save a friend. Even though she is not supposed to but she does not care. This is another example of where she stands for something that she believed in. Some people don't do this every day but they let things happen in everyday lives. Veronica Roth makes the character Tris a role model for ever teen. She works hard to become dauntless and she never gives up. Her character is a good person and stands up for what she believes in. If you don't already work up the courage to stand up for something that you believe in or someone. Thank you so much for reading my blog. And I hope you have a nice day.

  1. I really like your standpoint in this blog post describing why you liked the characters. I'm also curious as to exactly to who Four is and how they came to be in interaction with the protagonist. How exactly did they meet and what kept them together through out the story, do they even make it side by side to the end of the story?
Could you have used more specific examples as to Tris standing up for other people? Is it something she's done often in the book?
You also mentioned that she stepped in when she wasn't supposed to, why wasn't she supposed to intervene? That doesn't seem like something you get permission to do anyways, only when you feel it is right you do it. Which it seems like this character is really good at doing, despite being scared she stands up for someone she cares about(Who is Al in relation to her?). She works towards being fearless for the sake of others and not herself, at least that's the understanding got from reading your blog. Were there possibly any other examples you could have used to show this about her character?
You also mentioned that she stood up for what she believed in but didn't mention how so. Could you possibly give a specific example as to when/where she stood up for something she believed in and why? I think it'd be really interesting to see Tris standing up for an actual belief and how she'd interact then rather than putting herself in harms way for someone she cares about. Would she defend said belief verbally, physically, or through actions?
